A so-called bi-rotary (or counter rotary) engine, in which the crank case, cylinders and the propeller rotate in opposite direction to the rotation of the crankshaft. This is made possible by utilizing planetary gearbox. In this system, the power was increased over 35%. The engine is fitted to the Albatros H-1 experimental aircraft.
