One of the best German radial engines used in the Second World War.

It was equipped with the fuel injection installation, two stage booster and the so-called Kommando Gerat – automatic steering device, controlling the engine's work and the propeller's pitch, making the steering of the aircraft's powerplant easier. The engine featured an original, forced cooling system, with the fan placed in front of the cylinders. The engine powered the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A and some versions of the Junkers Ju 88.
