A single flow, 7-stage, all Polish production turbojet engine. The SO‑1 was developed at the Aviation institute in Warsaw for the new type of the TS‑11 Iskra jet trainer. After initial problems, the engine was improved and in 1968 serial production started. Production ended with 700 examples of the engine built. Its follower was the SO‑3 engine that powered newer variants of the TS‑11 Iskra.
