An engine designed and built by the Fabrica Automobili Isotta–Fraschini in Milan and on licence at the Bianchi company. It was fitted with two Zenith carburettors and a compressor, which facilitated the engine startup. In the displayed version the lubrication was forced by the oil pump.
The Isotta Fraschini V.4b was used in the Macchi M.5 flying boat as well as in heavy triple-engined bombers Caproni Ca.30 and Ca.36.
