A turbofan engine designed in the sixties at the Alexandr Ivchenko Design Bureau for a light passenger aircraft Yakovlev Yak‑40. Engines of the AI‑25 family also powered Czechoslovak Aero L‑39 Albatros trainer, operated by most Warsaw Pact members, and Polish-Soviet PZL M‑15 Belphegor agricultural aircraft.
