A modified variant of the Benz Bz IV of 1915 of which 6,400 were built. The Bz IVa had aluminum cylinders. It was used in the Halberstadt C.V, AEG J.I, J.II, N.I, AGO C.IV, Albatros C.VII, C.XV, G.III, J.I, Friedrichshafen G.II, FF 49, FF 59, LVG C.V, DFW C.V aircraft.
