Modified second-generation MiG-21.

The MiG-21PFM succeeded the PF version and was manufactured from 1964 to 1968. The modifications included new KM-1 ejection seat, which led to the replacement of a single piece canopy hinged to forward with a windscreen and canopy hinged to the right. The fin was enlarged and the wings were redesigned and fitted with blown flaps to improve take-off characteristics. A new fire control system was installed, which enabled the aircraft to attack ground targets with bombs and rocket missiles. A ventral provision for the GP-9 gun pod with twin barrel GSh-23 cannon was added. The 94N variant had nuclear bomb carrying capability.

MiG-21 of the F-13, PF and PFM versions took part in the Vietnam and Israeli/Arab war. Polish Air Force purchased 132 aircraft, delivered 1966–1968. It was the most numerous version of MiG-21 operated in Poland.

The MiG-21PFM construction number 94A4205, side number '4205' served with No. 41 Fighter Aviation Regiment based in Malbork. After withdrawal from service it was used by the Military University of Technology in Warsaw as a study aid.
